How it works

From first session to lasting financial habits

  • Each workshop follows a structured path — no guesswork, no skipped steps
  • Assignments are practical and tied to real household scenarios
  • Progress is visible from week one, not just at the end

The workshop path, step by step

Every participant moves through the same sequence. The structure exists so you spend your attention on learning, not figuring out what comes next.

1

Baseline audit

Map current income, fixed costs, and spending patterns using a provided worksheet before the first live session.

2

Goal framing

Identify 1–3 concrete financial targets — an emergency fund, reducing a specific bill category, or a savings milestone within 6 months.

3

Budget build

Construct a working monthly budget in the shared tool, category by category, with a facilitator reviewing the logic live.

4

Review cycle

Track against your plan each week, flag what drifted, and adjust the next period's allocation using the same template.

What actually happens during a session

Sessions run for 90 minutes and follow a fixed rhythm: a short review of the previous week, a focused teaching segment of around 30 minutes, then a hands-on exercise you complete before the session ends.

Facilitators do not lecture through the full time. Most of the session is you working on your own household numbers, with guidance available when you get stuck.

Between sessions, assignments take roughly 20–30 minutes per week — usually updating a tracker or preparing a short question for the next meeting.

Ciarán Ó Murchú, workshop participant

"I had tried spreadsheets on my own before. The difference here was that someone reviewed my numbers with me in the session and pointed out that I had been underestimating grocery costs by about €180 a month. That one correction changed how I planned the rest of the year."
